Is this vintage Trek Road bike worth the cost?

Hi I'm going to pick up this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/bik/1357510136.html later on today and I was just curious, is it worth less or more then the amount he's asking. Any input greatly appreciated thanks. -Emmanuel

    It’s a 20+ yr old mid-grade aluminum bike. Components are lower-level by today’s standards. Frame isn’t really compatible with replacement modern road wheels should the rear hub wear out, which it may already be. All things worth consideration. It may be in sound condition, and it may not be in need of immediate maintenance or repairs. . . though the ad mentions nothing in regards to the latter. Hopefully it fits and rides well. You’re paying top dollar.
